Welcome back! This is part 3 of our 3-part series on how to market your chemistry website or blog. Where we left off in part 2, we discussed various tactics that you can use to attract and engage an audience. Hopefully, these suggestions will help get your creative juices flowing and help you develop effective strategies to grow your business.

Content Is King

Well, you’re in luck because I’m going to give you a golden nugget of digital marketing advice that will supercharge your content marketing efforts. Ready? Let’s go.

The most effective (and free) tool that any budding entrepreneur or marketing manager could use to market their chemistry is called Hootsuite.

Hootsuite is an all-in-one social media platform that allows you to connect with other people and allows you to curate content across all of your social platforms simultaneously. Additionally, it provides you with all the tools you need to engage with your audience in real time.

Hootsuite is extremely easy to use and gets the job done quickly and efficiently. Plus, you get a free 14-day trial so you can try it out before you buy.

Why should you consider using Hootsuite for your marketing?

Hootsuite is completely free which means you have absolutely nothing to lose. You can use all the tools on the platform to gain valuable insight into how your customers think and what they want. Additionally, the platform is extremely easy to use so you can easily get up and running and start using it to its full potential. Lastly, the platform has a very active and vibrant community of users who are always willing to help and give advice whenever possible.

So, in essence, you get a free trial, easy to use tool that allows you to build a following, and a place for your audience to connect with you.

Build A List

So you’ve decided that you want to use Hootsuite to create and grow your audience. That’s fantastic!

You’ve got a couple of options when it comes to building a list. You can either choose to create a list of email or you can choose to build a list of phone numbers.

If you decide to create a list of email, you can use a tool like MailChimp to effortlessly send out personalized emails to your customers. Alternatively, if you decide to build a list of phone numbers, you can use a tool like Contact Form Seven to easily create a form that allows individuals to subscribe to your newsletter.

In both cases, you need to make sure that you have a way to collect and store this data. You could use databases like mySQL or MongoDB to store and organize your subscriber list or you can use a service like MailChimp to handle this for you. In this instance, you would need to review their privacy policy and make sure that you’re comfortable with their use of your data.

Content Calendars

Once you’ve got your list, the next step is to create and follow a content calendar. Without a content calendar, it’s very difficult to ensure that you’re consistently publishing content at the right time to attract and engage your audience.

A content calendar is a simple tool that can help you plan out what content you’ll be creating and when you’ll be publishing it. If you decide to use a content calendar, you can simply choose a date in the future and it will give you a head start on your planning. You can then use the calendar to set weekly or monthly goals for yourself.

To get started, simply choose a date in the future and it will give you a head start on your planning. You can then use the calendar to set weekly or monthly goals for yourself.

As you work through your content calendar, you’ll need to determine the quantity and frequency of your content as well as how you’ll promote your content when it is published.

Content Promotions

With your content published, the next step is to use various tactics to promote your content. The goal is to get your content in front of as many eyeballs as possible so that you can grow your audience. But how?

The answer is quite simple. You need to determine the type of content that is most effective at attracting your audience and you then need to tailor your content promotions to drive traffic to that content.

If you’ve decided that videos are most effective at engaging and attracting your audience, for example, you can use a tool like Vidyard to promote your videos. Or, if you’ve decided that written content is more effective, you can use a tool like Growthoid to find and connect with influencers who are already talking about your product or service and then you can repurpose and re-publish their content to drive even more traffic to your website.

You can use various platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter to gain exposure for your content. And, for best results, you should only be promoting content that is relevant to, and tied-in-with, your target audience.

Curate Content For International Readers

With so much competition from overseas, it’s essential that you learn how to market your chemistry to international audiences.

To do this, you first need to determine the regions of the world that you think your target audience may be located in. Then, you can use Google Search or other tools to discover the right audience for your product or service. When creating content for international readers, make sure that you’re using the appropriate language and that you’re not just copy-pasting from English language websites.

To give you some inspiration, I’m going to tell you about a company called iSayHello that provides online marketplaces where you can find English-speaking freelancers who will write, format, edit, and even voice-over your video content for international audiences. iSayHello only selects translators and voice-over artists from certain regions of the world, so make sure to connect with them if this is a service that you think would be beneficial to your business.

With a little planning and some creativity, you’ll be able to develop an effective content strategy to grow your chemistry. And, for the best results, you should only be using free tools like Hootsuite to build your audience. In the next part of this series, we’ll discuss effective ways to engage with your audience once you’ve got them hooked.
