You probably know people like me. We are the digital nomads, the SEO gurus, the online marketing executives who live and breathe digital marketing. We work hard, we play hard, and we love what we do. We are the people who wake up at 5 AM to begin our day, excited about what needs to be done and looking forward to a fun day ahead. In this blog post, I will talk about how I structure my day, my tasks, and my responsibilities so that I can remain effective and productive even when I’m working remotely.
Rise And Shine Early
I love getting up early and being among the first to greet the day. As a digital marketer, getting up early is one of the things that sets me apart from other workers. I get to see the sun rise and the sky turn from pitch black to a gorgeous shade of blue while drinking my coffee. It’s a view that most others don’t get to see until later in the day. As an SEO strategist, the ability to read the news early and stay informed is vital. I need to know what’s going on so that I can keep my skill set up to date and relevant, as well as pass on any new developments to my clients. I frequently check Twitter and various forums to see what’s new and what people are talking about.
Eat, Sleep, And Breathe Digital Marketing
I need to eat to remain active and to stay healthy. I try to get all my nutrition from plants and avoid eating meat whenever possible, so that I can reduce my carbon footprint. When I eat something unhealthy, it affects my work and the work of others immediately after me. I need to sleep to stay calm and focused during the day. This is why I generally avoid staying up late at night and getting up early in the morning. I also need to breathe deeply and regularly to stay alert. Even when I’m not working, I try to find ways to relax and take a break from reality. I watch TV or read a book, but my ideal time to relax is about an hour before jumping back into the working world. As a result of these needs, I try to keep my work environment as uncluttered as possible, so that I can maximize my sight lines and keep my digital marketing skills sharp.
A Clutter-free Environment
When I first get up in the morning, I make sure that my bed has not been slept in and that my house is not cluttered. I will clear a couple of spaces so that I have enough space to arrange my belongings and workstation. I keep only what is necessary and organized. When I return home at the end of the day, I make sure that my house is in the same condition. A lot can accumulate during the day, so I try to keep things tidy. Having a tidy house means I can easily find whatever I need when I need it. If I have lots of space, I feel like I can create any kind of atmosphere or workstyle that I desire. This keeps my creativity fresh and engaged, as well as keeps my coworkers happy and productive.
No Distractions
As a digital marketer, my workload tends to be fast-paced and hectic. We have deadlines to meet, content to produce, and channels to reach. There are always a million things to do, and it’s easy to find yourself distracted by the many responsibilities that come your way daily. It’s important to keep your work environment free of distractions so that you can produce high-quality work. Sometimes, I will set small tasks for myself to keep myself busy. I will research online marketing best practices or devise a strategy for my next SEO campaign, but I won’t let myself get bogged down by tiny to-do items. These small tasks help me stay focused on what’s important while ensuring that I don’t get overwhelmed by the large amount of work that comes my way daily. I find that being overly engaged with what’s going on around me can sometimes hinder my ability to be productive. I need to keep my work environment uncluttered to prevent this from happening.
Prioritize And Organize Tasks
I need to prioritize tasks to ensure that I don’t end up doing something that should have been done earlier. Sometimes, this involves reordering or canceling tasks that I didn’t have time to finish earlier. If I could do this over again, I would prioritize and organize my tasks differently, as there’s more than one way to do something. I try to be as efficient as possible and to eliminate excess steps where I can. For example, instead of submitting my website to 10 online directories, I will handpick the ones that I feel are the most pertinent. This can help me save time and effort in the long run. Tasks like this can help me feel like I’m making the right move even when my brain is telling me that I’m doing the wrong thing. In cases like this, the little voice inside my head that’s nagging me can be my worst enemy or my best friend. It all depends on how I choose to listen. When I don’t listen, I tend to regret it later.
Make Sure Everything Is In Its Place
I try to make sure that my house is always in its designated place, so that I can easily find whatever I need when I need it. If I don’t have my phone with me, I will often look around for my laptop or my tablet. This way, I can conduct research and keep track of the various tasks that I need to complete. I try to keep my working environment uncluttered so that I can easily maintain my productivity. It’s amazing how much space a messy desk or an unorganized office can consume. A lot of things can become overwhelming if you’re not careful, so it’s important to keep things in their place to prevent this.
Create Routines And Habits
Habit is one of the most important things in life. Routines and habits can help us function more efficiently and stay organized. We can set routines for ourselves to follow or establish habits which we know will help us complete our tasks more effectively. For example, I will always put my work out to dry before starting any household chores, as this will help me get the most out of my paper towels and prevent me from having to run around after every little thing. Habits and routines can be a huge help in terms of productivity, so make sure to incorporate them into your everyday life as much as possible. If you feel like you’re not getting much done each day, it could be because you’re not forming any habits or routines that help you get things done. Take some time this week to try and establish a few simple yet effective routines and habits that will prove beneficial to you and your everyday life. When you do this, you’ll begin to see amazing results that will encourage you to continue on this path.
Use Reminders And Checklists
I prefer to use reminders to ensure that I do not forget about tasks that I need to complete. A simple to do list posted on my fridge can remind me of all the things that I need to get done. I can also check off each item as I go along, so that I can see how much I’ve accomplished. This helps me feel like I’ve gained something even though I may not have achieved what I set out to do. There are times when I’ll set a list of items that I need to check off as I go along, so that I can keep track of what I need to do. This helps me work more efficiently and eliminates the need to pause and think about what I need to do. It’s amazing how much time this can save me. The important thing is that I believe that my productivity will increase as a result of using these tools and that my overall happiness will increase as well.
Stay Confident
When I first get up in the morning, I try to find ways to stay confident about the work that I do. I will frequently remind myself of this during difficult times. If I’m feeling low or down about the work that I do, I will often seek out ways to feel more confident. For example, if I’m not feeling particularly competent in terms of leading a digital marketing campaign, I will look at other successful marketers and see how they conducted their campaigns. By doing this, I will be able to stay confident that I’m making the right decision and doing the right thing, even if at times my confidence may waver. When I’m feeling confident about the work that I do, it allows me to be at my best and to accomplish more even when faced with difficult or seemingly impossible tasks. In times like these, having more confidence can be all that’s needed to push you through.
