I bet you’re sitting there thinking, “Is this guy for real? How can he possibly make a living off this type of BS?”
Well, he isn’t. He actually makes his living off of affiliate marketing, which is when you earn money off other people’s activities. So, let’s look at how he does it.
Find Your Niche
It’s important to find a topic or niche for your blog. If you’re not sure what a niche is, it’s basically a small market or topic that you can write about. You can also find affiliate marketing niches, like beauty or style, clothing, travel, and so on. If you can become an expert in your niche, you can potentially make a lot of money off of it.
For example, Dave is a travel blogger who specializes in Spain. So, he can write about Spain, and potentially make a lot of money off his blog.
Now, you don’t necessarily need to specialize in one area to make money with a blog. You can also write about general topics like lifestyle or reviews. The more you write, the more you’ll be able to establish yourself as an expert in your area of expertise. That’s what Google cares about when they rank your articles, as they believe that your audience will be more likely to buy a product from a trusted source. Experts in different industries can also collaborate to create a useful resource for their fans. That’s called a thought leader and can be extremely influential in their respective industries.
Create Quality Content
Now, this might seem obvious, but you’d be surprised by how many people I come across who don’t pay much attention to the content that they’re posting. They’ll just dump any old content that comes across their head, without putting too much thought into it. That’s not going to get you far. You have to create high-quality content that’s going to be valuable to your readers.
You can start by making sure that your posts are well-written, and that you’re using proper grammar and diction. You should also take your time publishing valuable content that’s going to be worth reading. Instead of rushing to put out a quick blog post to see some results, you’ll be better off spending a few hours each week, crafting a solid piece of content. The more you put out there, the more you’re going to attract potential customers and affiliates who might want to promote a product or service which is relevant to your niche.
Build Your Email List
In the early days of this blog, I would write and publish multiple pieces of valuable content every week. As I gained a following, I would go back and re-post old articles to gain even more traction. Eventually, this would lead me to build something called an email list, which was a way for people to get updates on my articles, and perhaps even gain access to some useful resources.
An email list is basically a group of people who have subscribed to your emails. So, whenever you publish a new blog post, you can send out an email to your email list, giving them the details on the new article. This way, they’ll constantly be reminded of your content, even if they don’t visit your blog every day. They’ll also feel like they’re an integral part of your community, and will value your opinion and research highly.
If you’ve been writing for a while and want to take your career to the next level, now is the time to establish yourself as an expert in your industry. There are several ways to do this, but creating and curating valuable content is the best way to go. Once you’ve established yourself as an expert, you can use your status to convince corporate executives to work with you, or take you under their wing.
This is where you come in. If you’ve been following along, you now know that you can use your tax refund to establish yourself as an expert in your industry. From there, you can use your blog to build a following and eventually make a decent amount of passive income.
There, now you know how to make money from a tax refund. Go out there and establish yourself as an expert in your industry. Once you’ve done that, I’d love to hear about your experience.
