Is Naukri.com A Good Online Marketing Site?

I won’t beat around the bush. I am currently not a huge fan of Naukri.com. Your mileage may vary, of course, but personally I have never had much luck on this website. I have had some good luck on other job-hunting websites, but I’ve never been able to find a job on Naukri.com. I know some other users like myself have had great success, but for whatever reason I have failed to find a job on this website. It’s extremely frustrating.

You’re probably thinking to yourself right now, “Why is he even bothering to ask? He obviously doesn’t know how difficult it is to get a job on this site.”

Well, let me tell you something. It’s not as easy as you’d think. There’s a reason why most of the jobs on this site are senior level positions or managerial roles. For some reason they just don’t seem interested in hiring fresh graduates. Is it because people have more confidence in the stability of a company once it has been around for a while?

There could be a hundred different reasons why a company might not want to hire you. One reason could be that they don’t see enough potential in you to make a longer-term investment. Or, it could be that the job is just not that interesting to them. Who knows?

All we can do is register our disappointment with this website. And, by the way, a big part of the reason why I don’t like it is because of its deceptive marketing. When you first visit the site you will see all these amazing job opportunities and think, “Oh my god, this is going to change my life.”

Then, you will eventually get to a place where you have to enter your CV and an automated email will send you a link to a fake test. You don’t actually get to take the test, but it’s enough to convince you that this is a legitimate job search engine. And, at least from my own personal experience, it never ceases to amaze me how many people fall for this kind of stuff. It’s heartbreaking to see this level of trust broken by so-called trusted brands.

Naukri Is Not Afraid To Give You A Fake Feeling

There are countless of examples of how fake this website is. I’ll give you a few. The first one is when you click on the job opportunities at the top of the page. You will be taken to a page where the only thing you’ll see is a big image of an empty boardroom with some chairs around it. There is no text on that page, but there are words of encouragement such as, “Our offices consist of a room with a couple of desks and chairs. We usually have people come in and sit for the interviews. One of the interviewers would normally carry out the interview, while another might take a walk around the office and get to know the other members of the team.”

Even if you’re not looking for a job right now, it’s still sad to see a company willing to ruin your entire day just to make a quick buck. This could easily be the most depressing part of the entire website.

Then, there is the feeling you get when you log in and see a big image of an empty boardroom with a depressed face staring back at you. This definitely gives you a poor feeling of trust, doesn’t it?

While you’re at it, why don’t you check out the 404 error page. When you get there you will see a big red “404 – Page Not Found” with a link to a fake review of the product or service in question. And, please don’t forget about those obnoxious pop-ups that keep trying to sell you stuff you don’t need. Thanks.

Why Are People Still Using Naukri?

Even if you do find a job on this site, you’re still going to have a hard time doing anything more than sending out your resume and occasionally getting a call back. I know this because I’ve tried myself. I’ve sent out hundreds of resumes to companies that have appeared on this website, and I’ve never been called back for an interview. I’ve tried for roles in marketing, sales, and management, and the only roles that paid well were those in marketing or sales.

There are just too many companies that appear to have no interest in actually hiring people. Instead, all they want is to take your money and run. And why shouldn’t they? As long as people are still using this site, they’re giving them money.

Then, there is the issue of the jobs that are posted. A lot of the roles on this site are either too far from where you are, or require too much experience for someone just graduating. A lot of the listings are also rather poorly written, resorting to using words such as “candid”, “intrepid”, and “perspicacious” instead of the more standard “smart”, “confident”, and “capable”.

The point is, none of these jobs sound like they’re worth your time. You would be better off looking for jobs that fit around your studies or are closer to your home. You might also want to try looking for jobs in a different country if you are unable to find anything suitable closer to home.

Naukri.com Is Still King (Or Queen) Of The Job Searching World

Despite all its flaws, Naukri.com is still the number one website for finding a job. According to SimilarWeb (a tool that measures website traffic and popularity), as of February 2021, Naukri.com receives 7.8 million daily unique visitors and has a global Alexa ranking of 2,823, which makes it the 22nd most visited website in the world.
