How to Create an Effective KPI Dashboard for Your Online Marketing

If you’re responsible for tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) for the success of a business, you’ll know how important it can be to keep an eye on these figures. Having solid KPIs in place can help you to plan and target your metrics accurately, enabling you to pinpoint the most effective areas of your business and making it easier to track its growth. However, keeping track of these numbers can be quite tricky. That’s why we’ve put together this guide to show you exactly how to create an effective KPI dashboard for your online marketing efforts.

The Basics

Before getting started, it’s a good idea to sit down and map out the basics. Start by identifying the key performance indicators (KPIs) that you’ll use to measure the success of your online marketing efforts. Once you’ve got this down, you can start building a detailed KPI dashboard that will serve as a hub for all your online marketing activity. To get things started, you can use an online tool like Xero to build out your KPI dashboard. This free tool will connect all the figures you need in one place, making it simple to monitor and track your progress.

To get the most out of your dashboard, it’s essential to ensure that all your KPIs are set to “notification only”. This will ensure that you’re always notified of any changes that occur in your numbers, but you won’t receive any alerts unless there’s actually a change to report. To do this, go to your dashboard and click on the gear icon at the top right. You can then select “Notifications” from the dropdown menu, as shown in the image below.

Design

When you’ve set up your Notifications with the basics taken care of, you can start to design your dashboard. You don’t need to go overboard, but you should at least have a cover page that will provide a quick summary of your dashboard’s contents. The next step is to break down your KPIs into individual pieces of information. To do this, go to your dashboard and click on the gear icon at the top right. You can then select “View Settings” from the dropdown menu, as shown in the image below.

Once you’ve set this up, you’ll be taken to a page where you can tailor the information you want to display. You can use this page to hide pieces of information that you don’t want to display and to rename the indicators that you’ve displayed. Changing the name of an indicator will help you to keep all the information in one place. Renaming an indicator will also improve the usability of your dashboard, as everyone knows what each of the metrics mean.

Content

Another important element to consider is the content that you’ll use to drive traffic to your dashboard. To do this, go to your dashboard and click on the gear icon at the top right. You can then select “Content Settings” from the dropdown menu, as shown in the image below.

This will take you to a page where you can choose the content that you want to use to drive traffic to your dashboard. To start with, you could choose to use content from your blog. When you choose this option, you’ll be presented with several options for content. You can then use this content to drive traffic to your dashboard. Once you’ve got some content set up, test it out and see how effective it is. You can then use this information to tweak the content that you’ll use in the future.

As we’ve established, a key performance indicator (KPI) dashboard is an important part of any online marketing initiative. The best thing about this tool is its ease of use. You don’t need a lot of technical expertise to use Xero. Simply input the figures you’ll need and click on the chart icon to get started. You can then test out your dashboard and make any necessary adjustments. When you’re happy with how it looks, click on the Publish button to make your dashboard available to the public.

Tracking

Keeping track of your progress as you develop and grow your business can be difficult. To simplify this process, you can use tools like Google Analytics to track the success of your online marketing activity. To do this, go to your dashboard and click on the gear icon at the top right. You can then select “View Settings” from the dropdown menu, as shown in the image below.

Once you’ve set this up, you can simply go to your Google Analytics dashboard and track your progress. You can use the information that Google provides to track the success of your campaign. With this information, you can identify the areas of your business that are performing well and those that need to be improved upon.

Communication

If you want to be able to communicate the results of your dashboard to other members of your team, you’ll need a way to do this. This could be another tool like Google Docs, or you could use an email thread to keep track of all your discussions. Either way, you need a place where you can store all the information related to this project.

If you want to create a more professional experience for your customers, you could use a tool like Hello Fresh, where people can order fresh produce straight to their door. All these examples can help you to better understand the importance of keeping track of key performance indicators (KPIs) in today’s ever-changing digital world.
