This past year has seen some major wins for online marketing, including the coveted Diamond Romero Award for Best Use of Online Marketing to Generate Sales
In the world of advertising, the Romero Award is considered the prestigious Golden Lion. It’s been given annually since 1955 to honor the achievements of Spanish illustrator, artist, and photographer José María Sánchez Romero. (His first name is also the basis for the “Diamond” portion of the name.)
This year’s award ceremony was held Wednesday, October 25, during the DMA Gala. (The “DMA” stands for the Directory de Marketing Asiática, or Asian Marketing Directory.)
The event honored a number of online marketing luminaries and was streamed live on YouTube.
The video included footage from the awards ceremony as well as highlights from some of this year’s entries. (Some of the videos were commissioned by Diamond. Therefore, they are part of the campaign.)
The awards were presented in 12 categories, with the winner in each being rewarded with a gold statuette and a diploma. The ceremony also featured performances by international artists including jazz guitarist Denny Zeitlin and Spanish singer-songwriter Montanet.
